A pre-purchase inspection helps you understand what youโre really buying before money changes hands.
We provide professional pre-purchase car inspections in Anaheim and throughout Orange County, helping you avoid unexpected repairs, hidden issues, and costly mistakes.
Our goal is to help you avoid unnecessary expenses and make a smart buying decision. Whether youโre evaluating an older daily driver or a high-end vehicle, each car is inspected with the same level of attention and care.
We review the vehicleโs history through a Carfax report and compare its pricing against current market data. If any issues are discovered, we provide an estimated cost for repairs and explain how those factors impact the overall value of the car. Youโll receive an honest recommendation on whether the purchase makes sense, if negotiation is reasonable, or if itโs best to keep looking.
Throughout the process, we act in your best interest, ย giving you clear information, realistic expectations, and the confidence to move forward or walk away.
Designed for buyers who want a solid understanding of the vehicleโs overall condition;ย
starts at $150.
Recommended for higher-value vehicles or when you want a deeper assessment before making a decision;ย
starts at $300.
Includes everything in the Regular inspection, plus:
Prices may vary based on the vehicleโs location within Orange County.
To provide fair and accurate pricing, travel distance is taken into account when calculating the service fee. Please send us the vehicle address for an exact quote before booking.
A failing head gasket is one of the most expensive hidden issues in used cars. Standard inspections can miss it, but our head gasket test can detect leaks using a special fluid that changes color when COโ enters the cooling system.
We offer this test as an add-on to a full pre-purchase inspection for $50, whenever itโs technically possible and with the vehicle ownerโs permission. Protect yourself from costly engine repairs and get a clear picture of the carโs condition.

We provide professional pre-purchase inspection services for classic and vintage vehicles. Unlike modern cars, older vehicles require a more detailed evaluation of mechanical condition, previous repairs, and overall structural integrity.
Our classic car pre-purchase inspection includes a thorough assessment of the body, frame, and components, with special attention to signs of restoration, rust, and hidden damage.
As part of the inspection, we also perform paint thickness measurements using a professional gauge. This allows us to identify repainted panels, body filler, and previous bodywork that may not be visible during a standard visual inspection.
Whether youโre buying a classic Ford Bronco or any vintage vehicle, our inspection helps you make an informed decision and avoid costly surprises.
We perform comprehensive mobile inspections on virtually all passenger and commercial vehicles, categorized by market engineering:
Our deepest diagnostic expertise lies within European vehicles, particularly luxury and classic models. These complex platforms require manufacturer-specific knowledge and dedicated diagnostic tooling to accurately evaluate vehicle health, map out intricate electrical architectures, and identify common hidden issues.
While we provide standard cosmetic, structural, and mechanical evaluations for electric and hybrid vehicles, a conclusive analysis of a high-voltage traction batteryโs long-term health requires a static shop environment with specialized diagnostic discharge equipment. Our mobile inspection strictly focuses on documenting observable system faults and analyzing available live diagnostic data stream information without vehicle disassembly.
Beyond standard sedans and SUVs, we are fully equipped to inspect light-duty utility vans and pickup trucks. Furthermore, we carry heavy-duty diagnostic software capable of scanning large commercial trucks and heavy duty platforms. If your vehicle has wheels, we can plug into it.
1) Mobile Inspection Logisticsย ๐ ๏ธ
A: No, ProTech Service is a fully mobile mechanic service. We come directly to the vehicleโs location, whether itโs at a private sellerโs home or a dealership in Anaheim and across Orange County.
A: For our Extended Inspection, we use professional mobile vehicle ramps and high-clearance jacks to safely elevate the car on-site. This allows us to perform a thorough underbody, suspension, and leak check anywhere.
A: No, your presence is not required. You can arrange the time with the seller, and we will handle the rest. Once completed, we will send you a comprehensive digital report with photos and video.ย
Please note: If you choose not to attend in person, you will just need to coordinate the inspection time with the seller yourself. Once the schedule is set and 100% prepayment is cleared before our mechanic dispatches, we will perform the inspection on-site independently, and you can focus on your day.
A: No, we do not contact dealers or sellers directly, nor do we participate in price negotiations.ย
ProTech Service operates strictly as an independent third-party inspection service. To guarantee 100% honesty and unbiased results for our clients, we maintain zero business relationships with dealerships and never accept any third-party offers or incentives. Coordinating the inspection time with the seller remains the client's responsibility.
A: Yes. We can inspect vehicles at most major auto auctions.
However, auction inspections are different from our standard pre-purchase inspections because they are subject to the auctionโs rules and restrictions. Depending on the auction, we may not be permitted to perform a full road test, connect a diagnostic scanner, raise the vehicle, or access certain vehicle systems. In some cases, the vehicle may not have a working key, making parts of the inspection impossible.
If youโve used our pre-purchase inspection service before, we want to be transparent that an auction inspection cannot provide the same level of evaluation. Weโll always explain these limitations before scheduling, so you know exactly what to expect.
Our standards remain the same, the scope of the inspection is limited only by the auctionโs rules.
2) Reports ๐
A: Yes, both our Regular and Extended Pre-Purchase Inspections include a full Carfax history report at no extra charge.
A: The duration depends on the type of pre-purchase inspection you choose. A Regular Inspection takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, while an Extended Inspection typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours. How you receive your results depends on whether you are present at the location:
If you attend in person: Our mobile mechanic will walk you through the vehicle at the end of the inspection, show you all identified issues, and hand you a handwritten paper report. We will also follow up by sending photo and video evidence of any malfunctions.
If you cannot attend in person: Our goal is to make you feel as if you were right there with us. We conduct a thorough analysis and compile a comprehensive digital inspection report filled with detailed photos and videos. Preparing this electronic report takes approximately 2 additional hours after the inspection is complete.
3) Payment & Booking Policy ๐ช
A: No. Booking an appointment is 100% free and carries no financial obligations. You do not need to pay anything at the time of scheduling
A: Yes. If you (the buyer) will not be present at the vehicle's location during the inspection, we require 100% prepayment before we leave for the appointment. Payments must be cleared before the scheduled dispatch time.
4) Cancellation & Refund Policy โ
A: If we are unable to perform the inspection due to our fault (e.g., unexpected mechanical delays or scheduling conflicts on our end), you will receive a 100% full refund immediately.
A: If we arrive at the location but the inspection cannot be performed due to the dealer, seller, or client's fault (e.g., the car was sold, the dealer refuses the inspection, the vehicle is missing, or keys are unavailable), a travel fee will be charged depending on the location. The entire remaining balance of your payment will be fully refunded to you.

Buying a used car always comes with risks. Even if a vehicle looks perfect, it does not necessarily mean it is free of technical problems. Many buyers make the same mistake, relying only on a computer diagnostic scan or a CarFax report.ย
Watch Out: This Trick Could Cost You Thousands. In California, a Smog Check is a required part of registering a vehicle under a new ownerโs name.ย
